Charles Landreth
Volgograd, Russia
Charles attended the East Tennessee School of Preaching in Knoxville, Tennessee. His preaching career took him to churches in Tennessee, England, Dallas, and back to Tennessee. He then came back to Dallas and began to worship with the Prestoncrest Congregation. He helped establish and served as the director of Central Dallas Ministries. Prestoncrest then sponsored Charles and his wife, Linda, as missionaries to Volgograd, Russia for a two year period.
Charles and Lynda now direct the highly successful Character for Kids outreach program. This evangelistic project promotes character education among youth and young adults in Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, Lithuania and Hungary. American Christian teachers are trained in the ethical and character building curriculum of the program. They then travel with a team to teach Character for Kids seminars to other teachers and university students who are training to become teachers. During the seminars, relationships are formed and students are introduced to local missionaries. The ministers and local Christians are called on for evangelistic follow-up.
There is an ongoing need for new teachers. Charles and Lynda are always seeking mission-minded people who would like to train and participate in this very worthwhile evangelistic project.
