World Bible School
World Bible School at Prestoncrest has been around for the majority of the life of this Church. For years, Hilton Terry faithfully corresponded with individuals from all over the globe. Not only did Hilton correspond with students; at any one time, we have had at least 20 others helping out. These teachers take time out of their busy schedules to correspond with their students. These teachers prepare and grade tests from all students to help prepare them and move them toward an understanding of God’s will and toward baptism. World Bible School is unique in that the teachers teach from their homes. All contact is done through the mail.
We receive the student’s names from WBS and then contact each individual through the mail and start a Bible study. Many of the teachers at Prestoncrest might have from thirty to forty studies going at once, with different students. These students are spread out all over Africa, and the United States. The many different countries in Africa range from Zimbabwe to Malawi to the Ivory Coast. In the United States our teachers are studying with a considerable amount of students in North Carolina as well as some in East Texas. Over the years, teachers at Prestoncrest have corresponded with an estimated six to eight thousand students worldwide. World Bible School does great things with many individuals that are in places we can’t always send our own members. Many people over the years have been baptized in Africa and the United States. In the last several years at Prestoncrest, we have had six students that have asked to be baptized. All six of these individuals were brought up through our lessons, which were sent through the mail. God is doing great things through World Bible School.
