Dr. Raul Armando Duran Trejo
Alejandro Marin
Myra Garcia
Antigua, Guatemala
Dr. Raul was raised in El Salvador. He earned his Doctor in Medicine at The National University of El Salvador in 1980. For 15 years, he practiced medicine and operated pharmacies in San Salvador. He and his wife, Dalila, moved to Antigua in 1997. They have a married daughter, Marie, living in San Salvador, and a son, Raul, who attends law school in Guatemala City.
Dr. Raul and Dalila became Christians while in San Salvador. Upon arriving in Antigua, they found the Church became active. He preaches 1-2 times a month, and participated in 5 baptisms in 2006.
After moving to Antigua, Dr. Raul was asked to take over operating clinics in Antigua, Chimaltenango, and Solola. These medical clinics support ongoing mission efforts by local evangelists. In these clinics, the morning begins with a devotional, singing, and prayer for the patients. The medical work concentrates on preventive and family medicine. Dr. Raul visits these 3 clinics each week on a rotational basis. He sees about 130 patients a week. He also makes a visit to see patients in Santa Caterina, a town where a missionary formerly preached.
Assisting Dr. Raul is Alejandro Marin, who is in charge of the pharmacy. He takes patient information and holds Bible studies with patients in the waiting room. Alejandro holds his Bachelor degree and also serves as one of the preachers for the Antigua Church. He and his wife, Alicia, have 4 children. A wonderful lady, Myra Garcia, also works in the clinics with Dr. Raul.
